“Drug menace in Punjab is not only bringing bad name to the state, but also spoiling the lives of our youths and eating into the vitals of our society,” said Kultar Singh Sandhwan, Speaker, Punjab Vidhan Sabha.

He said this while presiding over a function organised on the occasion of Bhai Lalo ji’s birthday by the Bhai Lalo Sewa Society Sirhind at Gurdwara Sri Vishwakarma Bhavan, Sirhind. He was accompanied by Fatehgarh Sahib MLA Lakhbir Singh Rai and Sirhind Market Committee Chairman Gurwinder Singh Dhillon.

The Speaker asserted that it was the collective responsibility of everyone to to eliminate the drug menace. “However, it is only possible through the path of righteousness shown by our great Gurus,” he added.

He said Bhai Lalo ji was a source of inspiration for the entire humanity, and by following the path shown by him, many types of evils can be eradicated from the society.

“It is necessary to connect our children with Gurbani because this is one true way, by which our children can contribute to the creation of a healthy society while avoiding social evils,” he stated.
