Patiala: Centre using force against farmers, says Sachin Pilot
Patiala, March 3
Senior Congress leader and former Rajasthan Deputy CM Sachin Pilot exuded confidence in the party’s victory in the upcoming Lok Sabha elections and claimed that the BJP government should amicably resolve the farmers issue and “not use force against them”. Speaking at a rally organised by PPCC general secretary Nirmal Singh Bhattian, Pilot said that the BJP-led Union Government is targeting the farmers using force, while the farmers are only raising their demands.
BJP indulging in revenge politics
The Central Government is playing revenge politics. Attempts are being made to harm the image of opposition leaders. No one is afraid of any investigation, but the way Congress and other opposition leaders are being willingly targeted is completely wrong. — Sachin Pilot, Congress leader
“The Congress party is absolutely ready for the upcoming elections. The unprecedented public support we are getting in Punjab has further boosted our morale, and we will defeat the NDA coalition,” said Sachin Pilot. “The Central Government should immediately accept the demands of the farmers and ensure MSP on all crops. The government should then sit with the farmers and look into their other demands too. It is wrong to stop them at borders and use force against them,” he added.
Punjab Congress leaders including Punjab Congress affairs in-charge Devender Yadav, PPCC Chief Amrinder Singh Raja Warring, AICC joint treasurer Vijayinder Singla, Punjab Women Congress chief Gursharan Kaur Randhawa, former CM Rajinder Kaur Bhattal and Nirmal Singh Bhattian were also present at the rally.
