Cars collide head-on in Patiala, three dead

Three persons, including a woman and her son, were killed while seven others were injured following a head-on collision between two cars near Shadipur village in Patiala on Monday morning.

According to the police, the victims were Jaspal Kaur (55), her son Harinder Singh (38) and Poonam Kaur. Seven other occupants of the two cars have been admitted to various hospitals, six of them are critically injured.

The police said a tipper was parked on the main road. When a car tried to cross that tipper, it collided with another car coming from the opposite side around 4 am on Monday. A case has been registered against tipper driver Balbir Singh at the Sadar police station.
