BJP leaders slam state govt for fund mismanagement

Senior BJP leader Preneet Kaur and Punjab BJP Mahila Morcha president Jai Inder Kaur today lambasted the Punjab Government over the ‘mismanagement’ of Ayushman Bharat Scheme funds.

Preneet Kaur said, “The Punjab Government’s failure to disburse Rs 500 crore to private hospitals under the scheme is a betrayal of public trust. Over Rs 350 crore received from the Central Government remain unutilised, leaving hospitals and patients in the lurch.”

“Moreover, while hospitals have stopped providing treatment due to the non-payment, the government is spending these funds on other things like advertisements, official residence renovations etc.”

She also said, “Your government has been consistently misleading people, claiming the BJP-led Central Government hasn’t allocated funds. The truth is, the Centre has provided Rs 350 crore, which your government misused. Who gave you the right to spend the money meant for the health of Punjabis on other things?”
