St Peter’s Academy lifted the winner’s trophy at the prestigious Sardar Mohan Singh inter-school debate hosted by Modern Senior Secondary School, Patiala, today. The school hosts this annual debate in the memory of its founder, Sardar Mohan Singh.

The debate featured nine leading schools from Patiala, who argued on the topic ‘Social media can – and should – be held accountable for the spread of misinformation’. Budha Dal Public School came second and The Millennium School took the third prize.

Ekam Deol of Modern Senior Secondary School, who argued for the motion, won the first prize and was awarded an iPad. Mansirat Kaur of St Peter’s Academy, who argued against the motion, came second and was also the proud recipient of an iPad. Tanvi Gupta of Sri Aurobindo International School, who argued against the motion, stood third and was awarded the finest coffee-table books and other classics worth Rs 10,000. The winners were also awarded cups and certificates.

Vanshika of Our Lady of Fatima School and Sukhman Bhullar of DAV Public School were declared the best interjectors.
