A day after the state witnessed the biggest spike in farm fires, the stubble burning count witnessed a downward trend as 237 farm fires were reported across the state on Saturday taking the total tally to 6266. Sangrur topped the list with 106 incidents.

The AQI of four cities in the state continues to remain in the “poor” category. Amritsar recorded AQI of 268, followed by Mandi Gobindgarh (248), Rupnagar (265), Jalandhar (232), Ludhiana (195), Khanna (153), Bathinda (180) and Patiala (147). The last four fell in the “moderate” category.
