2 youths attacked by group over 'old enmity' at Sangrur civil hospital

A group of miscreants allegedly attacked two youths at the civil hospital here on Tuesday night, leaving them seriously injured.

Police said the injured youths have been identified as Manpreet Singh of Benra village and Kulwinder Singh.

Manpreet told the police that he had got a message from one of his friends to come near the civil hospital. However, when he reached there, six persons allegedly attacked him with rods.

After receiving information about the attack on Manpreet, Kulwinder rushed to the hospital, where the accused persons attacked both of them in the emergency wing.

Sangrur DSP Sanjiv Singla said all six attackers have been identified and three of them are arrested. As per preliminary investigation, it seems to be a case of old enmity, he added.

A case has been registered against the accused under Sections 109, 191 (3) and 190 of BNS at Sangrur’s City police station.
