Driven by the festive season, the passenger vehicle segment experienced a 75 per cent month-on-month growth, and a 32 per cent year-on-year growth. According to the Federation of Automobile Dealers Associations (FADA) Vehicle Retail Data, which was released today, retail sales were 4,83,159 units in October 2024, compared to the 3,64,991 units in October 2023 — a growth of 32 per cent. Sales were 2,75,681 units in September 2024.

According to dealers, aggressive offers, attractive schemes and new model introductions further stimulated demand.

FADA President C S Vigneshwar said, “October witnessed the convergence of two major festivals, Navratri and Diwali. These festivities traditionally account for 30–35 per cent of total annual auto sales, so the industry’s focus was keenly on how October would unfold.”
