Pakistan’s javelin throw star Arshad Nadem has expressed gratitude towards Neeraj Chopra’s mother, Saroj Devi, following his historic win at the Paris Olympics 2024.

After Nadeem won the gold medal in javelin throw, beating Chopra, Saroj Devi made headlines with her kind words, referring to Nadeem as ‘like her son’.

Nadeem, who returned to Pakistan to a hero’s welcome, replied to Saroj Devi’s remarks with a priceless reply that has won the hearts of millions. Speaking to the Pakistan media, he said, “A mother is a mother for everyone, so she prays for everyone too. I’m grateful to Neeraj Chopra’s mother. She’s my mother too. She prayed for us, and we were just two players from South Asia who performed on the world stage.”

Nadeem’s mother, Raziah Parveen, also added, “Woh bhi mere bete jaisa hai. Woh Nadeem ka dost bhi hai, bhai bhi hai (He is like a son to me. He is Nadeem’s friend and also like a brother).
