Parade marks police martyrs’ day in Mohali
To commemorate the martyrs, who laid their lives in the line of duty, during the last year, a Police Commemoration Day Parade was held by the district police on Monday.
Ropar Range DIG Nilambri Jagdale, while paying tributes to the martyrs, said the day reminded us of the valour of our police and paramilitary forces which fought the battle against anti-India forces with a mission to win or die. She said the district had also been carrying a legacy of 35 families who had lost their kin in the line of duty. The 27 families who attended the parade were honoured with gifts and police officers expressed their solidarity with them.
The parade was led by DSP Jatinder Chauhan as Parade Commander and a two-minute silence was observed in the memory of the personnel who had laid down their lives in service of people.
