Pak drone found near border
A Pakistani drone equipped with sensors and cameras was found in a field at Dullapur Keri village near the International Border (IB) in the Hindumalkot police station area.
Sources said a farmer, who went to his fields about 2.5 km inside the Indian territory near the International Border, spotted a drone lying there on Friday afternoon.
He informed the authorities concerned. Soon thereafter, officials of the Border Security Force (BSF), police and intelligence agencies reached there. A search operation was conducted in the area, but no consignment of drugs or illegal weapons was found there.
Police sources said Pakistani smugglers might have sent the drone with a consignment of drugs, weapons or fake currency, but the equipment developed some snag and crashed. Any consignment attached with the drone might have been collected by the smugglers on the Indian side before the authorities could reach there.
The DJI Mavic-3 drone reportedly has a camera and advanced omnidirectional obstacle sensing equipment.
