Paddy procurement begins today in dist

Paddy procurement will begin in the mandis of Patiala district from Tuesday and procurement arrangements have been completed in all 109 mandis of the district, said DC Dr Preeti Yadav while inspecting the paddy procurement arrangements at Rajpura grain market today.

Yadav said 14.04 lakh metric ton of paddy is expected to arrive during the season, for which adequate arrangements have been made.

She said 109 mandis and 126 temporary yards have been set up in the district and adequate arrangements have been made in all of them. She also interacted with farmers and representatives of the commission agents.

She thanked the farmers for their cooperation in stubble management last year. The DC said adequate arrangements such as cleanliness, drinking water, toilet cleanliness, lights, fans, tarpaulins, and other necessary arrangements have been completed in the mandis of Patiala district so that the farmers coming to the mandis do not face any difficulty.
