Over 20 teams participate in national science congress

More than 20 teams participated in district-level National Children Science Congress (NCSC), held under the guidance of National Council for Science and Technology Communication (NCSTC), Department of Science and Technology, GoI, at Learning Paths School here today.
The event — themed ‘Science, technology and innovation for a clean, green and healthy nation’ — was aimed at inspiring, empowering and expanding inquisitive minds.
Host school authorities said students from government schools and private schools presented their innovative ideas and research on problems relevant to the society and came out with scientific solution to the identified problem.
Himmat Singh, District Education Officer, Mohali, was the chief guest at the event. Addressing the gathering, Gill said such events provided a forum to young scientists to pursue their curiosity and to quench their thirst for creativity by experimenting on open-ended problems.
In the junior category, Sant Insher Singh Public School, Mohali, won the first prize, while the second prize was won by Learning Paths School and the third prize was won by Government Senior Secondary School, Gharuan.
