Over 11K candidates appear for PSTET
Over 12,000 candidates got themselves registered in Ludhiana to take the Punjab State Teachers Eligibility Test 2024 exam, which was held across the state on Sunday. Of these, 11,506 candidates appeared for the test.
According to information, total eight centres were made for the first shift and 28 centres were made for the candidates appearing in the evening shift. The first shift was held from 10 am to 12:30 pm while the second shift was from 2:30 pm to 5 pm.
DEO (Elementary) Ravinder Kaur said eight centres were made for the candidates appearing for first shift. She said over 90 per cent of the candidates had appeared for the test.
In Paper 2, new subjects such as art and craft, physical education, home science, Urdu, music and Sanskrit are introduced for the aspiring teachers by the government.
Multiple Choice Questions with one mark each were given to the candidates and they were satisfied that no negative marking will be done. Paper 1 was for candidates for Classes I-V while Paper (2) was for candidates for Classes VI-VIII.
In paper 1, there were 150 questions based on child development, prodigy, Punjabi, English, Maths and environmental studies. Every section had 30 questions each and for science and maths teachers, there were 60 separate questions each. To qualify, candidates need to achieve at least 60 per cent (90 out of 150) marks.
