Over 1.25L jobs to be created in Hisar cluster, says minister

Civil Aviation Minister Kamal Gupta said a detailed work plan had been prepared for the development of an Integrated Manufacturing Cluster (IMC). This cluster is expected to generate over 1,25,000 jobs in Hisar and attract investments worth thousands of crores. A total of 2,988 acres has been identified for this project, at an estimated cost of Rs 4,694.46 crore.
Sharing more details on the multi-modal infrastructure of the IMC, Gupta said the nearby dedicated fare corridor (DFC) stations included Ambala (208 km east), Rewari (156 km west) and logistics hubs/dry ports like ICD Kapashera (182 km), IMLH Nangal Chaudhary (189 km), and Kandla Sea Port (1,055 km).
Elaborating on the proposed master plan, Gupta said in Phase 1, out of a total of 1,605 acre, 980.20 acre (61%) will be used for industry and logistics, 39.02 acre (2%) for commercial purposes, 48.60 acre (3%) for public and semi-public use, 34.90 acre (2%) for residential purposes, 28.50 acre (2%) for services, 242.52 acre (15%) for green and water bodies, and 231.26 acre (15%) for roads and utilities.
He said existing industries near the IMC included metal industry, engineering and fabrication, logistics, cotton and textiles, and food processing related to agriculture. The proposed IMC allocates 343.20 acre for aerospace and defence, 172 acre for food processing, 289.80 acre for engineering, etc.
