Opposition flays AAP ‘inaction’
As the festive season unfolds and winter approaches, air pollution in the national capital has emerged as a significant concern for residents. Opposition parties, particularly the BJP and Congress, are criticising the AAP for its handling of pollution control.
New Delhi BJP MP Bansuri Swaraj said, “CM Atishi has no answer to pollution in Delhi.
AAP has been in power for a decade but has done nothing to address the issues facing its citizens. Delhi becomes a gas chamber every winter, yet the government has not prepared a plan of action.”
Chandni Chowk MP Praveen Khandelwal said, “The Supreme Court has highlighted the importance of saving our forests. We must make Delhi greener, and that requires collective effort.”
West Delhi MP Kamaljeet Sehrawat criticised CM Atishi for her lack of accountability regarding the pollution crisis. “She blames others but fails to address her own responsibilities. While she accuses us of wrongdoing related to the excise policy, she has no explanation for the lack of maintenance that led to a civil aspirant’s death due to unclean drains in Rajendra Nagar,” he said.
Delhi Pradesh Congress Committee president Devender Yadav stated, “The AAP government seems to care about toxic air only when a thick haze of pollutants envelops the city’s skies. AAP and BJP make a lot of noise about air pollution when the situation becomes dire.”
