Kurukshetra, August 26

Union Minister for Housing and Urban Affairs Manohar Lal Khattar today trained his guns at the Congress and said that the party had been misguiding people in the name of the Constitution, and that it did nothing to implement the Constitution in its true spirit.

He was addressing a Dalit Samman Swabhiman Samaroh in Kurukshetra organised by the Dalit community leaders associated with the BJP to garner support for the party in the Assembly elections.

“During the Lok Sabha election, Congress played the trick and people got trapped, but we have to stay aware of the misinformation being spread by the Congress, which has always insulted the Constitution. Only the BJP can protect the Constitution,” said Khattar.

He said, “During the regime of previous governments, even intelligent children were deprived of jobs, but we changed the system.”

“The BJP government introduced Parivar Pehachan Patra to obtain information about the people and their problems and on the basis of the data, the government provided benefits to the real beneficiaries,” he said. Accusing the Congress of booth capturing and depriving people of casting their votes, he said, “To ensure a higher voter turnout, the party has requested the Election Commission of India to change the date of polling, but Congress is again spreading misinformation that the BJP is scared of the election and it was trying to delay the election. The decision is to be taken by the Election Commission, but I call upon every citizen to use their franchise and participate in elections to ensure maximum polling.”

The Union minister said, “The Centre has introduced a Unified Pension Scheme for the welfare of government employees and there is no difference between the Old Pension Scheme and the new scheme. The BJP will include it in the party’s manifesto and implement the scheme after forming the government.”

Former Rajya Sabha member Dushyant Gautam said, “Congress has been spreading misinformation that the BJP wants to end reservation and change the Constitution, but Congress committed the sin of changing the Constitution.”

Minister of Law Arjun Ram Meghwal said, “The Opposition has been spreading wrong information regarding SC/ST creamy layer, and we have to be aware of such tactics. They are using the Constitution to spread misinformation.”
