Chandigarh, August 22

To address the delay in sanctioning leaves within the UT Police Department, which has led to dissatisfaction among personnel, the department has decided to implement a software aimed at expediting the approval process.

DGP Surendra Singh Yadav has instructed SP, Headquarters, to procure the software within two weeks. According to an order issued by the DGP today, there are grievances among police officials regarding the timely approval and tracking of their casual leave requests.

The order highlights that the delays in processing these requests has led to resentment. To resolve this issue, the SP, Headquarters, has been tasked with acquiring a software for online management and approval of casual leaves.

Sources said delay in sanctioning casual leaves has been a long-standing problem, which the department hopes to rectify with the new online system.
