Faridabad: A 32-year-old driver was killed after a speeding car rammed into his stationed vehicle from the rear on the dividing road of Sectors 12 and 15 around 8.35 am on Friday. The victim, identified as Rattan of Bahrola village of Palwal district, was trying to repair his car. As he opened the bonnet of his car, another car rammed into the vehicle, leading to his death on the spot. It is claimed that the bonnet of the car fell on his head and he got dragged for several metres before the vehicle came to a halt. The police have registered a case and launched a hunt to nab the accused. TNS

lift collapses at G’gram society

Gurugram: A woman narrowly escaped after a lift fell down in the Antariksh Heights Society at Sector 84 in Gurugram on Friday afternoon. According to the complaint filed by Shewta Sharma, she got into the lift on the 20th floor. After two or three floors, the lift started to fall down, but she was fortunate to escape injury. Residents alleged that the inspection renewal of the lift had expired on June 15 last month. “No one was injured in the accident and a probe is underway,” said a senior police officer. OC
