BSF seizes five drones

Amritsar: With a spurt in the number of drone intrusions into Indian territory to smuggle drugs and weapons, the Border Security Force in a joint operation with the Punjab Police seized five flying machines on a single day on Monday. While two of the unmanned aerial vehicles (UAV) were seized from Rajatal and Rattan Khurd border villages in Amritsar, three were recovered from Dal border villages in Tarn Taran border belt. Apart from drones, the BSF found two packets containing 1.1 kg of the contraband. The BSF said with dense fog starting to engulf the region at this time of the year, the ISI-supported Pakistani state and non-state actors have increased their attempts to push in drugs and weapons. “Reliable inputs by the BSF intelligence wing coupled with diligent efforts of BSF troops and Punjab Police decimated the nefarious designs of narco-syndicates from across the border despite harsh weather conditions prevailing all over the Punjab border,” said the BSF.
