A team of Chabal police personnel led by ASI Jatinder Singh arrested a man with illegal weapons from the outskirts of Chabal village on Saturday.

The Assistant Sub-Inspector informed that the accused has been identified as Amritpal Singh Peter, a resident of Mandiala Chatiwind in Amritsar. The police recovered two pistols and five cartridges from his possession. The accused was also involved in drugs trade. A case under Sections 25, 54 and 59 of the Arms Act and Sections 21, 61 and 85 of the NDPS Act was registered against the accused.
