Once educational hub, Sonepat now haven for criminals: Rohtak MP
Karnal, July 17
Rohtak MP Deepender Hooda on Wednesday said the previous Congress government had established various educational institutes in Sonepat with the aim of making it an education hub, but the BJP government had turned the district into a hub of crime and drug abuse.
“The previous Congress government had established Rajiv Gandhi Education City with the idea of making Rai an educational hub. It had also set up the National Law University, Chhotu Ram University, Bhagat Phool Singh Women’s University in Khanpur, NIFTEM, IIIT and many other private universities, but the BJP has turned the hub of education into a hub of crime and drug abuse. The BJP government has shut down not only schools, colleges, universities, but also DIETs built during our time,” said Deepender on the third day of the Congress’s ‘Haryana Maange Hisaab’ campaign in the Rai Assembly segment in Sonepat.
Taking out a ‘padyatra’ from Ethnic India at NH-44 to Bahalgarh in Rai, he sought reply from the BJP government on issues pertaining to education, crime, corruption, health, extortion calls to traders and others. “Haryana Mange Hisaab campaign has become a mass movement,” he said.
During the padyatra, he interacted with a large number of people and listened to their issues.
