On-the-spot justice: Dy CM approves two houses in Una

Taru Ram and Neelam Kaur of Ward number 7 and 5 in Baliwal of Una district got a surprise when Deputy Chief Minister Mukesh Agnihotri approved houses for them on the spot on Saturday.

Agnihotri approved the two houses while presiding over the ‘Sarkar Gaon Ke Dwar’ programme organised at Baliwal gram panchayat in his home constituency of Haroli. Taru Ram and Neelam Kaur told him that they had no permanent house to live in. The Deputy Chief Minister approved houses for them on the spot under the Chief Minister Housing Scheme. He directed the officials concerned to complete all formalities in this regard.

Agnihotri said the government was focusing on ensuring that the benefits of development reaches the last corner of every village under the ‘Sarkar Gaon Ke Dwar’ programme.

He said that the Beat Area Irrigation Scheme-2 was being constructed with the aim of providing better irrigation facilities to farmers. The Baliwal area has also been included in this Rs 70 crore scheme.

Agnihotri added, “An amount of Rs 42 crore has been approved for the Punjaana-Polian via Kutharbit road and out of which Rs 12.50 crore will be spent on land acquisition for road construction and Rs 4.65 crore on the Gidgidasaheb-Tahlisaheb via Baba Bharthari Mandir road.”
