Old boys meet of Sainik School, Kapurthala to be held on Nov 23
The Old Boys Association of Sainik School, Kapurthala, is set to meet on November 23. Vice-admiral Lochan Singh Pathania will be the chief guest on the occasion. Harbans Singh Virk from the US will be the guest of honour.
A wreath-laying ceremony will be held at the Smriti Sthal, after which the guests shall be accorded a guard of honour. The harmonious melodies played by the school band will resonate in front of the Jagatjit Palace building. This will be followed by a group picture of the Saikapians.
Volleyball and basketball matches between the old students and present cadets of the school
will be held.
A highlight of the programme will be a lunch for all old boys with the cadets at the Cadet Mess of the school. In the evening, the golden jubilee and silver jubilee batches of the school shall be honoured.
The illustrious school has produced as many as 1,200 officers, including 700 through NDA and 500 through direct entries. Some prominent names include Lt Gen Satinder Saini (retd), Governor, Uttarakhand, Lt Gen Gurmeet Singh (retd) and four-time Advocate General HS Mattewal.
School principal Group Captain Madhu Sengar and Rajpal Singh Sandhu, DIG, Punjab Armed Police, Jalandhar, and president of the Old Boys Association, have extended an invite to all the members.
