Nurse raped-murdered while returning from hospital in Uttarakhand; accused arrested
Chandigarh, August 15
Close on the heels of the Kolkata doctor rape-and-murder case and the following outrage, a daily-wage labourer has been arrested after the body of a nurse working at a hospital in Udham Singh Nagar district of Uttarakhand was found recently from her village in the neighbouring UP.
Police said the nurse was raped and murdered by accused Dharmendra Kumar while she was returning home from hospital on July 30, reported The Indian Express.
A missing report was filed by her sister the next day as the woman did not return home.
On August 8, the Uttar Pradesh police found her body from an empty plot.
The accused had fled after the crime with the victim’s belongings, including her phone. The police traced her phone that led them to the accused.
