NSUI gears up for student election in Panjab University

Chandigarh, July 22

The local unit of the NSUI has started making preparations for the forthcoming student body polls in Panjab University and various city colleges.

A meeting of the student leaders from the city was held today at the Rajiv Gandhi Congress Bhawan, Sector 35, in which preparations and strategy was discussed at length.

Addressing the students, HS Lucky, president, city Congress, said the party was jubilant after winning the Parliament seat from Chandigarh and the recent performance in assembly byelection.

The party’s student wing was also able to win the PU election last time. He called upon all student leaders to work hard for the student community and get their issues resolved.

NSUI chairman of elections Nirmal Chaudhary and Dalip Chaudhary, in-charge of Chandigarh NSUI affairs, who had come to oversee the election preparations, also addressed the students and said the NSUI was committed to the cause of students.

A large number of students from various city colleges and Panjab University participated in the meeting.
