Now, apply online to get trade licence in Shimla
In order to provide trade licences to hundreds of traders as well as businessmen of the town, the Shimla Municipal Corporation is set to offer online applications service to traders and businessmen for applying for trade licence. For this, the MC is developing a software that will soon be made available to the people.
This was decided at the Finance Contract and Planning Committee (FCPC) meeting that was held here yesterday under the chairmanship of Mayor, Municipal Corporation, Shimla. During the meeting, the Mayor directed officials concerned to expedite the work of the development of the software.
The Mayor said there were hundreds of traders and businessmen in the town who did not have trade licence. “The main reason behind this is that trade licences were not being issued to them. The civic body has also received various requests from traders and business owners alike regarding this matter,” he said.
The Mayor further said that with the availability of this service, traders and businessmen would be able to apply for trade licence from their homes by paying minimum fees and would no longer have to visit the MC office for the same.
Apart from this, discussions were held regarding the ways to increase the income sources of the corporation as well as regarding the developmental works in the town.
