Notification on NOC abolition soon: Minister

In Punjab, now there is no need of NOC for the registry of plots up to 500 square yards. A notification will be issued soon after approval from the Legal Remembrancer (LR) and other competent authorities. This was stated by Revenue, Rehabilitation and Housing and Urban Development Minister Hardeep Singh Mundian during a press conference here this morning.

He said people had been suffering for over a decade due to laxity shown by previous governments in this matter.He said the current government had taken a big decision by passing The Punjab Apartment and Property Regulation (PAPRA) Amendment Act, 2024, to eliminate the need of NoC. The amendment Bill had already got the Governor’s approval, he added.

While strict measures would be taken to check mushrooming of illegal colonies, there would be relief to the small plot owners, he said.
