Battle lines have been drawn for the annual election of Maharshi Dayanand University (MDU) Non-Teaching Employees Association with the end of nomination process on Friday. Poll symbols were also allotted to the candidates. The election is scheduled to be held on October 28.

SP Rathi, Chief Election Officer, said three panels were in fray for the top five posts — president, vice-president, general secretary, joint secretary and cashier — of the association, while 13 members of the executive committee of the association had been elected unanimously.

“Anil Malhotra, Rajesh Kumar Saini and Vikas Ahlawat are in the fray for the post of president. Meanwhile, Dharmendra Sharma, Ravinder Kumar Panwar and Ravinder Lohiya are contesting for the post of vice-president; Ajmer Singh, Manish Kaushik and Vivek Kumar Chauhan for general secretary; Deepak Saini, Nitih Prakash Bhatnagar and Rambir Rana for joint secretary; and Raj Kanwar, Rajvir Singh and Vijay Pal for the post of cashier,” said Rathi, adding that around 700 electors would exercise their franchise.
