New Delhi: The State Bank of India and Indian Bank have decided not to load Rs2,000 notes in ATMs. The loading of Rs2,000 notes not only leads to faster cash-out, but customers also find it difficult to exchange these for smaller denomination notes. “This defeats the purpose of migrating the customer to alternate delivery channels,” said SBI in a statement. Jawed Ashraf is India’s new Ambassador to France

New Delhi: Senior diplomat and present High Commissioner to Singapore Jawed Ashraf has been appointed Ambassador to France. Ashraf succeeds Vinay Mohan Kwatra. IB staffer found dead in riot-hit area drain

New Delhi: Intelligence Bureau (IB) staffer Ankit Sharma was found dead in a drain in Chand Bagh where he lived, officials said. Sharma (26) might have been killed in stone pelting, they said. His father Ravinder Sharma said stones were hurled from AAP corporator Tahir Hussain’s house, but the latter rubbished the allegations.TNS

NHRC chief: Clashes weren’t communal

New Delhi: National Human Rights Commission Chairman and former CJI HL Dattu on Wednesday said the spurt in Delhi violence could not be referred as communal. Dattu, who was in Bengaluru to attend an event, had said the spate of violence could not be cited as a movement where people hate each other, adding that these “small aberrations are an integral part of a democratic country”.
