No building construction without plan approval: Ludhiana civic body chief

Municipal Commissioner Aaditya Dachalwal has issued strict instructions to building branch officials to act against illegal constructions in the city.

Apart from building inspectors, Assistant Town Planners (ATP) have been directed to move to the field and ensure strict action against illegal constructions.

The directions were issued during a meeting held by MC Commissioner Dachalwal at the Zone D office of the MC on Thursday. MC Additional Commissioner Paramdeep Singh, Superintending Engineer-cum-Municipal Town Planner Sanjay Kanwar, Assistant Town Planners (ATP) and building inspectors, among others, were present in the meeting.

Dachalwal also directed the officials to expedite the recovery of dues and unassessed challans. Weekly targets have also been fixed for recovery.

The building branch officials have been directed to ensure that no one is allowed to raise constructions without a sanctioned plan.

The MC chief also appealed to residents to stop illegal constructions and start construction works only after getting a building plan sanctioned from the civic body, failing which strict action would be taken.
