NIA files chargesheet against Landa’s 2 aides
The National Investigation Agency (NIA) has filed a chargesheet against two aides of Canada-based gangster-turned-terrorist Lakhbir Singh “Landa” in a special court at Mohali in connection with a terror conspiracy case.
The chargesheeted accused, identified as Jaspreet Singh, alias Jass, of Ferozepur in Punjab and Baljeet Singh, alias Rana Bhai, from Madhya Pradesh’s Badwani district, were members of a terror gang formed by foreign-based Khalistani terrorist Landa.
The probe agency’s investigation revealed that Jass was an on-ground operative of Landa and his associate Pattu Khaira, while Rana Bhai was involved in supplying weapons to members of the Landa gang and other gangsters.
“During the probe, it emerged that Jass was involved in Landa’s drug smuggling and extortion network aimed at generating funds for the Babbar Khalsa International,” an NIA official said.
He said accused Baljeet was manufacturing weapons locally and using the social media to supply those to operatives of the Landa gang. “Baljeet was one of the various weapons suppliers with whom the terrorists had tied up across the country for supply of arms and ammunition etc.” the officer said.
