NHPC’s Chamera-2 provides Chamba a medical mobile van
Under its corporate social responsibility (CSR) initiative, National Hydro Power Corporation’s (NHPC) Chamera-II Power Project has provided a medical mobile van to Chamba district. Chamba Deputy Commissioner Mukesh Repaswal flagged off the van on Thursday.
During the event, Repaswal highlighted NHPC’s significant contributions to education and healthcare in Chamba through its CSR programmes, resulting in marked improvements in these sectors.
He expressed his gratitude to the project managers and representatives for providing the mobile medical van.
Chief Medical Officer Dr Bipen Thakur said the van would be used for conducting diagnostic tests for conditions such as blood pressure, blood sugar, malaria, hepatitis, dengue and thyroid disorders. Additionally, free medicines would be distributed to patients, and complex cases would be referred to nearby hospitals. Equipped with a pathology lab, the van will facilitate various blood tests.
The route chart for the van will be determined under the guidance of the CMO’s office, ensuring that free medical services are provided to residents in rural and remote areas within a stipulated timeframe.
On this occasion, Chamera-II project head UK Nand said the organisation, under the guidance of the Chamba district administration, has undertaken various initiatives in education, healthcare, and other public interest areas.
Nand said the organisation would continue to carry out similar social welfare initiatives with the cooperation and direction of the district administration in future. Additional Deputy Commissioner Amit Mehra, NHPC HR head Janesh, CSR head Alok Ranjan and finance head Hemant Kumar were among those present at the event.
