Ner Chowk hospital to get MRI machine: CM
Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu today held a meeting with senior Congress leaders from Mandi district at his residence here to discuss various development projects. He emphasised the government’s focus on improving facilities at Lal Bahadur Shastri Medical College and Hospital, Ner Chowk. He announced that an MRI machine would soon be installed at the hospital for patients requiring advanced diagnostic services.
Sukhu told the leaders that Rajiv Gandhi government day boarding schools were being constructed in all Assembly constituencies in a phased manner and these would be constructed in Mandi district as well. He said that the government was considering setting up separate divisions of the Public Works Department, Jal Shakti Department and HP State Electricity Board Ltd in every Assembly constituency.
The Chief Minister asked the leaders to disseminate information regarding the Mukhyamantri Sukh Shiksha Yojana under which the government would bear the educational expenses of the children of widows. The leaders from various constituencies of Mandi apprised the Chief Minister about their priorities and urged him to include these in the Budget for the next financial year.
The leaders claimed that all constituencies in the district, baring Seraj, had faced neglect during the previous BJP government. Those who attended the meeting included MLA Chander Shekhar, former ministers Thakur Kaul Singh and Prakash Chaudhary, Chairman of the Mandi APMC Sanjeev Guleria, former MLA Sohan Singh Thakur and Congress leaders Champa Thakur, Lal Singh Kaushal, Naresh Chauhan, Pawan Thakur, advocate Jeevan Thakur, Chet Ram Thakur and Mahesh Raj.
