Nayagaon has been facing severe waterlogging since the beginning of monsoon. Uncarpeted, muddy lanes, inadequate drainage system and uprooted pavers exacerbated residents’ difficulties.

Senior BJP leader Vineet Joshi today visited Nayagaon to hear residents’ grievances.

“CM Bhagwant Mann has neglected Nayagaon, which is situated at a distance of mere 50 metres from his residence. The lanes here are dug up and get flooded even in the event of light rain. With the onset of monsoon, the problems of the people will only worsen,” he said.

Joshi expressed concern over the health risks posed by stagnant rainwater, which remains on the streets for days, potentially leading to the spread of diseases. “The population of Nayagaon is around 2 lakh. There is an urgent need for infrastructural improvements in Nayagaon to prevent further hardships during the rainy season,” he said.
