Naura-Mritunjay panel lists achievements

The Naura-Mritunjay group of teachers presented its agenda for the PUTA elections and major achievements it made during its last term.
Prof Amarjit Singh Naura is contesting for the post of president while Dr Mritunjay Kumar is in the fray for the post of secretary.
Prof Naura highlighted the struggle behind the implementation of revised UGC pay scales along with the commitment given by the Central Government to enhance the annual grant, combined with one-time grant of Rs 175 crore to disburse the arrears.
Further, the record number of promotion of teachers under the Career Advancement Scheme, resolution of clause 6.3 of the UGC Regulations-2018, enhancement of gratuity from Rs 10 to 20 lakh, restoration of past practice of treating senior teachers (60+) as regular faculty by including them in various committees, recruitment of new faculty were major achievement during the last term, the team claimed.
Dr Sumedha Singh, Assistant Professor of Mass Communication, who is contesting in the Executive Group from the Naura-Mritunjay team, said, “Despite being busy with teaching and academics, PUTA office-bearers do a lot for the welfare of the teaching camaraderie. This is for the first time that I am contesting the elections. I have posed my faith in this team because of its past achievements.”
