Students and faculty members from the Department of Floriculture and Landscape Architecture, Dr YS Parmar University of Horticulture, Nauni, have brought laurels to the university by winning multiple accolades at the recently concluded National Conference on Smart Farming Solutions for Ornamental Horticulture at Maharana Pratap Horticultural University in Karnal.

The conference, held in collaboration with the Indian Society of Ornamental Horticulture, saw the participation of four faculty members and 10 students from the university. Leading scientists and researchers from various institutions and state agricultural universities presented their latest research on ornamental horticulture, offering valuable insights for both budding scientists and the students.

Dr SR Dhiman, Professor and Head of the Department of Floriculture and Landscape Architecture, was honoured with the Fellow of the Indian Society of Ornamental Horticulture Award for his significant contributions to the field.

Dr Bharati Kashyap, Associate Professor, received the Best Oral Presentation award, while Dr Sabhya Pathania was awarded the Best Thesis award for her master’s research.

In the student category, Anshul Kumar, Dr Shilpa Kamal and Gulshan Birsanta bagged the Best Poster Presentation awards while Dr Nidhi Sharma was awarded the Best Oral Presentation Award. Vice-Chancellor Rajeshwar Singh Chandel, along with statutory officers, and staff, extended heartfelt congratulations to all the awardees, celebrating their achievements and contributions to advancing ornamental horticulture.
