This year, the 14th Chandigarh National Craft Mela at Kalagram promises to be exceptionally vibrant. Preparations are in full swing, and renowned singers are being invited to entertain visitors. On the inauguration day, Friday, November 29, there will be a spectacular cultural performance, followed by a soulful session by Sufi singer Kanwar Grewal. Continuing the tradition, entry on the first day will remain free of charge.

On November 30, Gurnam Bhullar will take the stage, while December 1 (Sunday) and December 8 (Sunday) will feature Bollywood singers. Padma Shri Suresh Wadkar and his wife Padma Wadkar will perform on December 1, and Amit Kumar will conclude the fair with his performance on December 8.

Other performances include Kulwinder Billa on December 2, Feroz Khan on December 4, and Harbhajan Mann on December 7, ensuring thrilling evenings for the tricity’s audience.

Under the joint aegis of the North Zone Cultural Centre and Chandigarh’s Department of Art & Culture, the fair will also celebrate regional music. December 3 will feature a Himachali Night with singers Geeta Bhardwaj and Kaku Ram Thakur. Uttarakhand’s Inder Arya will perform on December 5, while Kashmiri folk singer Gulzar Ahmed Ganai and Jammu’s Chaman Lahri will showcase Jammu & Kashmir’s musical heritage on December 6.

In addition to these musical performances, folk artists from across India will perform throughout the day. Free entry will be available for schoolchildren in the mornings, along with a cultural quiz and prizes.

Visitors can also explore over 200 stalls, which shall offer handicrafts, handlooms, and food, making the fair a must-visit destination for all.
