New Delhi, August 7
Amid preparations to hold the Monsoon session of Parliament, the Secretariat of both the Houses informed that the catering units would be serving ‘kadha’ (herbal decoction) from Monday.
The beverage is recommended by the Department of AYUSH to boost immunity during the Covid-19 pandemic. The department on its advisory said the herbal decoction made from basil, cinnamon, black pepper, dry ginger and raisin can be consumed once or twice a day.
“Members are informed that on the demand of several members due to ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, arrangements have been made to serve kadha at Rs 11 per cup in the Railway catering units of the Parliament House Complex from August 10,” said a Parliament Bulletin.
Earlier, the Secretariats asked members to carry and display their Radio Frequency Tags/Identity Cards as they enter Parliament House Complex wearing mask. It said this would address the issue of difficulty in proper identification of members at entry points to the House.
A session of Parliament is to be held latest by next month, before the expiry of six months since the end of Budget session on March 23. After much discussion, Parliamentary Standing Committees have begun deliberations while following social distancing norms.
