Eyewitness Akbar (33) said there was an altercation between a man and his wife during which Dhrijesh hit the woman with a brick and she fell down, a senior police officer said.

The police went to the Apollo Hospital and received the medico-legal case of Sandhya (31), the officer said.

During inquiry, the caller, identified as Faridabad-resident Hitesh Bhardwaj said while returning from Lady Shri Ram College after his duty, he reached a park in where he saw that some people had gathered, police said.

He saw an injured woman there. He along with the Sandhya’s husband shifted her to the hospital, police said.

Dhrijesh suspected that his wife was having an extramarital affair. This led to an altercation between them at the park following which Sandhya broke his mobile phone. Thereafter, Dhrijesh hit on her head with a brick, the officer said.

A case of attempt to murder was registered which was later converted into murder case when Sandhya succumbed to injures during treatment. Dhrijesh has been arrested and sent to judicial custody, police said.

He works at a private auto parts manufacturing company in Faridabad. They have one nine-year-old daughter, police added.
