100 new cases take Arunachal's COVID-19 tally to 14,852

At least 100 more people have tested positive for COVID-19 in Arunachal Pradesh, pushing the tally in the state to 14,852, a senior official said on Sunday.
Of the fresh cases, 27 were reported from the Capital Complex region, 10 from Tawang, nine from Lohit, eight each from Lower Subansiri and East Siang and six from West Siang district, the official said.
Five new cases each were also registered in Upper Siang and Lepa Rada, four each in Tirap, Lower Dibang Valley and West Kameng, two each in Papumpare and Namsai and one each in Upper Subansiri, East Kameng, Changlang, Pakke Kessang, Longding and Kamle, State Surveillance Officer (SSO) Dr Lobsang Jampa said.
Barring 27, all new patients are asymptomatic and have been shifted to COVID Care Centres, he said.
Arunachal Pradesh currently has 1,856 active cases, while 12,959 people were cured of the disease and 37 people died.
The recovery rate among coronavirus patients in the state now stands at 87.25 per cent.
The Capital Complex region—comprising Itanagar, Naharlagun, Nirjuli and Banderdewa areas—has the highest number of active cases at 1,079, followed by West Siang at 135, West Kameng at 78 and East Siang at 70, Jampa said.
The state has conducted 3,18,479 sample tests for COVID-19 so far, including 1,846 on Saturday, he added. PTI
