The 6th Nabha Kabaddi Cup was inaugurated with great enthusiasm at the sports stadium of Government Ripudaman College, Nabha. The event, organised by the Azad Welfare and Sports Club with support from NRIs and local residents, was officially opened by Punjab Rural Development and Panchayat Minister Tarunpreet Singh Sond.

Addressing the gathering, Sond appreciated the efforts of the Azad Welfare and Sports Club and its president, Jassi Sohianwala, who is also the chairman of the District Planning Committee. He highlighted initiatives such as Khedan Watan Punjab Dian that are aimed at nurturing young talent and providing them with platforms to excel in sports.

“Kabaddi is not just a sport; it is a symbol of Punjab’s rich cultural heritage,” said Minister Sond. “It unites Punjabis worldwide and gives our youth a distinct identity on the global stage. Events such as this offer a valuable opportunity for young players to showcase their skills.”
