Nabha carjacking case cracked, all accused held

Main accused has six FIRs against him in Patiala, Sangrur and Khanna

The Patiala Police have arrested four persons involved in a sensational carjacking incident that took place in Nabha recently. The arrests come after intensive investigation and police operations. The main accused, Sarover Singh alias Lovely, a notorious criminal with a history of robbery, dacoity and theft, was arrested on November 25 following a police encounter. He is undergoing treatment at Rajindra Hospital. He already has a criminal record and faces six FIRs in Patiala, Sangrur and Khanna districts.

On November 27, a dedicated police team apprehended four more suspects identified as Veeru Singh, Rahul alias Rula, Karan Bharadwaj and a juvenile. The accused were nabbed from an abandoned library near the Old Fort in Nabha. Patiala SSP Nanak Singh said a team of CIA Patiala, led by SP (Investigation) Yogesh Sharma and CIA incharge Shaminder Singh were chasing the accused.

On November 21, the accused had snatched a Mahindra Thar SUV from Chirag Chabbra after attacking him in Nabha. Finding the vehicle listed for sale on social media, they called Chabbra to a secluded spot for test drive and executed the carjacking. The arrested persons will be produced before the court.
