After a married woman was found dead under mysterious circumstances at her in-laws’ house in Jamalpur colony, her parents, alleging murder, have written to the Punjab DGP and Ludhiana Commissioner of Police for registering a murder case.

The police said the postmortem report of the deceased was pending and if the report would signal murder, they would register a case as per law.

Deceased Anjali’s mother Veena said she was found dead on September 10. “The in-laws did not show us the hanging body, rather they directly took Anajli to hospital where she was declared brought dead,” she added.

“She was killed by her husband and in-laws. To save their skin, they presented the murder case as suicide. The ASI-rank officer who was investigating the case had taken our signature on some typed pages, in Punjabi, mentioning that it was a murder case. However, later, we came to know that we were made to sign a statement that we didn’t suspect anyone and that it was not a murder case and Anjali had died by suicide,” she added.

Veen demanded thorough investigation to ferret out the truth. The deceased does not blame anyone in the suicide note.
