Municipal secy suspended in Rania

Rania Municipal Secretary Ashish Swami was suspended on Friday. The decision comes a day after a municipal engineer was transferred to Palwal, leaving two key positions in the council vacant.

Sources revealed that councillors had complained about the lack of progress on property IDs within the municipality. Problems pertaining to property IDs and no-objection certificates (NOCs) in the grievance committee contributed to the suspension of the secretary.

With these two positions vacant, all ongoing development projects have come to a halt. Long-standing issues, such as the installation of dividers and streetlights on the Rania-Sirsa road, are pending, causing inconvenience to public.
