A team headed by Chief Sanitary Inspector (CSI) Harjeet Singh has begun fogging work in Zone 1 (from Ward 1 to Ward 11) and the team headed by CSI Sunil Dutt will undertake the exercise in Zone 2 (from Ward 12 to Ward 22) on Monday.

The team headed by CSI Singh carried out the work with the help of one big and six small fogging machines.

CSI Singh said the fogging was done on the main roads of Jagadhri, industrial area and several other areas on Saturday. He said besides undertaking the fogging exercises, the accumulated water at any place would be removed.

He said it was not possible to drain out water from some places, thus at such places medicines and oil would be poured so that dengue larvae could not grow there.

“On the instructions of Municipal Commissioner Ayush Sinha, an extensive fogging work has been started in the MC’s area,” said CSI Singh.

The team members of Zone 1, Pradeep Dahiya and Sachin Kamboj, said the fogging was being done on main roads and wide streets of colonies by placing a big machine in the MC’s vehicle.

They said however, in streets and narrow lanes of the colonies, they were using small fogging machines.

CSI Singh said besides carrying out the work, the MC workers were also cleaning the water accumulated in empty places in the civic body’s area. Municipal Commissioner Sinha appealed to the local residents not to let water accumulate around them.

“Wherever water is accumulated, pour oil there to prevent dengue and mosquito-borne diseases. Keep changing the water in the cooler daily. Do not let water accumulate for long in the articles kept on the roofs of the houses,” said Sinha.
