Mumbai law college wins HPNLU moot court contest
Government Law College, Mumbai, won the fifth National Moot Court Competition organised by Himachal Pradesh National Law University (HPNLU), Shimla. Maharashtra National Law University, Nagpur, was declared the runners-up in the competition.
In addition, several prestigious individual accolades were conferred to honour exceptional performances.
The event, which brought together bright legal minds from across the country, was inaugurated on November 6 and concluded with a grand ceremony held on November 16. The competition witnessed the enthusiastic participation of over 15 teams from esteemed law schools across the nation.
The preliminary and quarter-final rounds were held virtually, enabling wide participation and accessibility. The semifinal and grand final rounds were conducted in-person at the HPNLU campus on Sunday, in a highly anticipated face-off that showcased the prowess of the nation’s finest moot court teams.
The final rounds were presided over by an esteemed panel of judges comprising eminent legal luminaries, Justice Sandeep Sharma, Judge, Himachal Pradesh High Court; Dr Sanjay Sindhu, Former Dean and Chairperson, Faculty of Laws, Himachal Pradesh University, Shimla; Peeyush Verma, President, Himachal Pradesh High Court Bar Association; Neelkamal Sood, Senior Advocate, Himachal Pradesh High Court; and Vijay Kumar Arora, Senior Advocate, Himachal Pradesh High Court. Justice Sharma, in his address, emphasised the importance of fostering critical thinking and innovative legal solutions in the ever-evolving legal landscape.
