A boy was killed on the spot when he was hit by a speeding truck near Village Khatti on the Phagwara-Hoshiarpur road here on Wednesday night.

The deceased Gurdip Singh was the resident of Mukerian. He was crossing the road after taking dinner from a roadside dhaba when the speeding truck hit him.

The driver managed to flee. The police have registered a case and sent the body to the local Civil Hospital for post-mortem examination.
