As the monsoon season comes to an end, temperatures in the hilly state are set to soar in the coming days.

As per the state’s meteorological department, maximum temperatures are likely to be in the range of 24°C to 26°C in many parts of high hills, in the range of 26-30°C in most parts of mid hills and in the range of 28°C to 32°C in most parts of lower hills/plains till October 10.

Similarly, minimum temperatures are likely to be in the range of 16°C to 18°C in many parts of lower hills/plains, in the range of 12°C to 16°C in most parts of mid hills and in the range of 8°C to 14°C in many parts of the high hills till October 10.

Minimum temperatures are likely to be normal over many parts of the state except some parts of Lahaul and Spiti, Kinnaur, Kullu and Kangra districts.

Light rainfall is likely over isolated parts of Chamba and Lahaul and Spiti and dry weather is very likely in many parts of the state from October 11 onwards.

However, maximum temperatures are likely to be in the range of 28°C to 30°C in many parts of lower hills/plains, in the range of 26°C to 28°C in many parts of mid hills and in the range of 22°C to 26°C in many parts of the high hills after October 11.

Minimum temperatures are likely to be in the range of 12°C to 16°C in most parts of lower hills/plains, in the range of 10°C to 14°C in most parts of mid hills and in the range of 8°C to 12°C in many parts of the high hills after October 11.

Meanwhile weather was mostly dry throughout the state today. Maximum temperature in Shimla was 26°C while in Dharamsala it was 29.6°C. Maximum temperatures in prominent hill stations Manali and Kasauli were 25.7°C and 25.8°C.

Nahan recorded 30°C, Solan 31°C, Kangra 32.6°C, Mandi 31°C, Sundernagar 32.9°C, Bhuntar 33.6°C, Kalpa 23.6°C, Chamba 33°C and Bilaspur 35.2°C. With 35.8°C maximum temperature, Una was the hottest place in the town while Kukumseri in Lahaul and Spiti district was the coldest as it recorded 5.8°C minimum temperature.
