Mohali cops nab 2 with 50-gm heroin

The Special Task Force (STF) unit of the Mohali police arrested two persons for possessing 50 grams of heroin late last night.
The suspects have been identified as Harish Kumar, alias Happy, and Ravinder Kumar, both residents of Hansi in Hisar. The suspects were produced before a court today, which sent them to one-day police remand.
Vehicle impounded
The duo was nabbed at a naka near Kuber Hotel on the Zirakpur-Ambala highway following a tip-off. Happy and Ravinder were coming from the Ambala side in a white Swift car to deliver the drug in the Zirakpur area. On frisking, the police recovered 50 grams of heroin hidden in the car’s auxiliary box. The police nabbed the duo and impounded their vehicle.

During preliminary investigations, the suspects told the police that they were friends. They were into drug peddling to earn money after the death of their fathers. The suspects also told the police that a Delhi-based drug peddler used to supply them drugs in Hisar.
A case under the Sections 21, 29, 61 and 85 of the NDPS Act has been registered against the suspects at the STF police station, Phase 4, here.
